Do you dread having your photo taken?

More than likely you are responding “yes” in your mind because photos are the last thing that you want to do. Although you crave seeing a photo of yourself, you’ve usually had bad experiences with the camera and dread it. Now… add in taking part in a sexy photoshoot? That makes most people even more terrified!

There is a few things we all seem to do when the camera is on us.

You stop breathing. “What do I do with my hands?” You wonder how long you have to hold that smile because it is taking the person with the camera a bit to get the photo just right.

Then you see the photo and just think “ I guess I am just not photogenic”

Plot twist: There is no such thing as photogenic. There is simply being uncomfortable or being comfortable in front of the camera. Most of us are uncomfortable, and it shows in the photos taken of us. So when we see the final product it looks so strange to us.

Part of being comfortable is having fun throughout the process of taking a photo. That is why most of the time your favorite photos of yourself are candid images.

This is why I make fun one of the most important parts of these portrait experiences.
