Sharing my work with the world has always brought me a lot of joy. But over the years, I have gotten most of my satisfaction from my boudoir photography from the client experience I share with them. I love showing clients their images at their in-person viewing watching their reaction to their pictures. Hearing from them how they had never felt as beautiful and comfortable as I made them think—seeing them glow as they see their images and how the world around them satisfies me and leaves me sleeping well at night.
While you may see a lot of subjects all over my Instagram and portfolio, they all gave me written consent to share their images. Even before they see their pictures, many clients ask that I share them on my social media and portfolio! The fact that they have that much trust in me makes me feel pretty damn incredible. And it makes me so proud of them that they are willing to be brave enough to put themselves out there to inspire other women to see their beauty.
There is no right or wrong answer on whether or not you should share your boudoir images with the world. Sharing your photographs and your story can truly be empowering to other women. But there is nothing shameful about keeping them private for just you or your partner’s viewing.
So while I love sharing my images, most clients do like to keep them private for themselves or their partners to whom they are gifting the photos. And that is entirely up to them. The fulfillment I get from being a Boudoir Photographer isn’t from getting likes on social media as much as seeing how must confidence is radiating off of my client after their session. That is where the real magic of this job is.
Like your entire session, everything to do with your images is entirely in your control. There is no right or wrong answer to whether or not you should share your pictures. It is something you must look within and decide for yourself, and I will honor your decision. By default, all images will remain private unless you choose via a signed model release after your viewing appointment.
